Getting from the airport to Hope Town:

To get to Hope Town you will need to fly into Leonard M. Thompson International Airport (MHH) in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas.

Note: when leaving plan to be at the airport 2 hours prior to your flight. You can find the Ferry schedule below to plan the best ferry to get to the airport on time!

TAXI

Once you arrive, it is a ten-minute taxi to the Hope Town Ferry Dock, which will take you directly to Hope Town, Elbow Cay. There are plenty of taxis outside the airport to take you to the ferry dock. Typically, all taxis take cash, and a ride is around $25-35/per taxi (U.S. currency is widely accepted). G&L Ferry

Getting to your accommodation:

You will tell the ferry captain what hotel or rental house you are staying in, and they will drop you off at the closest public dock (typically the Lodge dock). Transportation to your accommodation will depend on your booking. If staying in a resort, have the ferry captain call ahead to notify the resort you are on the way and will need to be picked up from the dock. If staying in a rental, coordinate with the golf cart company to have your golf cart waiting on the dock.

If someone you know has already arrived and has a golf cart, they can come and pick you up from the Lodge dock as well.

Golf Cart Rentals

Golf carts are the main method of transportation on the island. There are no taxis or rideshare services, so renting a cart is highly encouraged.

Carts on the island book up QUICKLY, so be sure to book before the trip. Information for other golf cart rentals can be found below.

*If staying inside Hope Town Settlement: No golf carts are allowed inside the settlement, but there are areas for carts to be parked right outside of the settlement. If you are staying there, on arrival you will call your golf cart provider and schedule to meet with them at the closest appropriate delivery location.
